Palestinian Industrial Estates and Free Zones Authority announces the completion of PALOLEA Olive Leaf Extract factory at JAIP.

This is the first factory in the Middle East in this field. This project is the fruit of a cooperation between the Palestinian Authority and the Government of Japan. The new facility measures 1000 square meters equipped with the state-of-the-art extracting machines and laboratories. PALOLEA is the first Palestinian manufacturer that produces its own active ingredients. This is the result of  a high level of research, and investment PALOLEA’s factory streamlines the manufacturing process by bringing crucial functions, such as materials, production, product testing, and packaging, closer to one another.

PALOLEA factory is a state-of-the-art facility with a focus on Advance Olive Leaf Extract manufacturing and efficiency. PALOLEA factory will officially be inaugurated in December 2015.

The Palestinian Authority has set up a programme of financial incentives to the tenants of JAIP called Partnership for Regional Investment, Development & Employment ("PRIDE"). To support this programme, the European Union has established the "Programme of Incentives to JAIP Tenants" under the EU's PEGASE Direct Financial Support mechanism allowing donors willing to contribute to PRIDE to channel their funds through it. PRIDE Steering Committee selects the potential beneficiaries. PEGASE channels the funds to the certified eligible beneficiaries after they implement their activities. PALOLEA has been the first JAIP tenant to receive its PRIDE financial incentive through the PEGASE mechanism according to the Implementation Modalities signed in 2014 by Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and the European Union. Currently, EUR 5.2 million is committed by the Government of Japan (USD 4 million) and European Union (EUR 2 million) through PEGASE-JAIP programme.
