Invest in Saudi Arabia - Health Sector – Vaccine institute

Vaccine Institute

Investment Description

Saudi Arabia has a high risk of exposure to infections due to 6+ million annual visitors for Hajj and Umrah, yet it does not currently boast any research and development or large scale manufacturing capability for human vaccines.

In addition, WHO has asked MOH to found a vaccine institute to deal with global epidemic threats. Given these factors, there is a need for private investment to establish an institute to manufacture essential vaccines, partnering a global manufacturer with a National Champion or experienced technical partners. The partnership will create an integrated mini cluster that comprises R&D, bulk production and formulation-and-fill-and-finish operations.

MOH will support this initiative by acquiring bacterial and viral seeds and cell lines to develop vaccine bulk.
